Sweet, simple, Valentiney lyrics!

Pros: Great vocals and pianos. Cool beatlesque sound. Perfect entry for this contest.

Cons: I know you were building up the sound there at the end, but there was something distracting about the synth doubling the melody--too much of the same thing going on.

Good stuff, Iggy

Because of Monica

wish I could play this song backwards, not as in backmasking, but starting with the "because of monica"'s.

Pros: "Because of Monica" is a really strong and catchy hook--I went away singing it. There was some nice imagery in the first verse--the way she smiles and styles her hair. The vocals were nice as well as the instrumentation and good production

Cons: The hook was the end! Just when I find something to sink my teeth into, to sing along, to get a groove going, the song was over. I think it would be beneficial to hook your listener sooner. And there were some forced or unnatural rhymes/words in there: "the moon will once lead you" and "her love you will prefer."

Well done.

Flowers in the Sun

Didn't I hear this on the radio?! Not yet? Well, it's not a big stretch of the imagination to think of it there. This is really great pop/rock song. Kudos.

Pros: great vocals, spiced up nicely with the backing vocals--a great mix. The guitar work was excellent. The production was excellent.

Cons: The only thing that struck me as odd was the lyric about "let me call you at home, if you don't pick up the phone" It seems a bit mundane compared to all the wonderfully romantic lyrics--picking flowers, not pawning love for fame, you're so lovely, etc.

Woo hoo, Todd!

I Should Be Coming Home to You

Ooooh, Bobbio! This is really nice. Your vocals are top notch, so soothing and a bit sultry. The compostition is fabulous as is the production. It's just so well done.

Someone else mentioned not connecting emotionally and this is the problem I had: For the first half I thought this was a "remorseful post break up song" but it isn't, is it? It's more of a "in love but living apart song"? And not being sure is the problem.

But my failure at interpretation does not dimish the fine craftmanship and execution of this song
