Personal lyrics, which feel soulful with your vocal. It sounds like you are singing at the absolute top of your range in a few places that at least to my ears adds to the Lennonish - Beatlesque sound. Strings are a nice touch but I'd love to hear this as a full-blown production with drums and guitar (rhythm, licks and solo).

Stirring vocals (a bit loud in the lo fi mix though) and a beautiful guitar sound. I had difficulty trying to discern a structure (verse, chorus and bridge) but that's OK. The lyrics were simple but very nice. I know some of the other reviewers referenced CSN, Jefferson Airplane and E.J. (and I know you're going to think I'm nuts) but Rush does stuff like this in terms of arrangement whereas the 3 aforementioned while lyrically more similar use more of a standard pop arrangement. . A Rush arrangement may include a single (chorused) acoustic and vocal arranged like a classical piece as part of a longer movement (but lyrically very different).

Well-crafted tune: nice voice and production/mix the guitar solo worked well too. I had no problem with the bass but I did have an unpredictable stereo effect happening (maybe is was just me). I agree with an earlier review, I can hear the Beatlles-ish thing harmonically and melodically. Lyrically, some of the words seemed 'forced', I played it a couple of times and had trouble walking away with any of the words.

Because of Monica

I see the copyright is '92 so I suspect that you are going to stick to your guns with this one and leave the arrangement alone (plus, it is probably about a real Monica) . but I agree with many of the other comments about the rhymes and chorus/bridge stuff. (IMHO) I think there is enough material for you to distill the verses a bit (maybe there are to many maybes) and arrange it so the hook appears earlier in the song with a little more of a build to it. Otherwise, I think it contains the building blocks to a commercially viable tune.

I really!! liked this one. You can definitely walk away from this one singing the "down, down, down" part and the powerful chorus. The guitar playing and arrangement were both very solid . well, I liked it so much I won't even say anything derogatory about the drums (just kidding)!

Top notch, very nice stuff, your lyrics were very poetic. I think there was a little bit of a 'disconnect' between the first two verses and the third but that's OK. Your voice, production and the chorus were all great so I probably shouldn't nitpick but I didn't like the brush on snare sound and I think a fat (not loud) backbeat on a snare would add a slight touch of dynamic during the chorus.

I liked the Danish version . I can imagine sitting in a small dinner theater somewhere in Europe. The song is harmonically complex relative to the R&R I listen to and the melody is pleasing. WRT the English version, I found the choice of words distracting at times (translation?). For example: "Is it enough to be a loving girl to save us all from evil dreams that wait in a world that never seems to care for love that´s living in the shade?" . the thought runs-on and it seams like an awkward way to present the sentiment (at least to my ears). I have one comment about the harmony and melody. The chords you play and the notes you sing during "Yes she´s the clue and merely passing through" (what ever that means) are a very tired cliché. Also, please find a different percussion sound(s), it sounds like a metronome.

Impressive guitar skills, both the playing and production but I agree with other reviewers that it feels a little 'free time' in a few sections (it might be my imagination but I think the down beat moved to the 'and of 4' suggesting a measure of 7/8 . but again, probably just my imagination). The mandolin sound (high up on the guitar neck?) is great and I really liked the lyrics.

I finally got around to registering for garageband.com . so I listened today. Good song but the voice was a little too 'out in front' for me but I got used to it. Please take the following comparison in a very positive way: Years ago, probably about 20, I went hiking in the Great Smokies with a group of guys, some of whom I did not know very well. Well, one of the guys knew every word to every John Prine song (prior to that experience I was unaware of John Prine). Needless to say, I knew almost every word to every J.P. song after about 7 days. I listened to this and it just reminded me a little bit of that J.P. style and I started having visions of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Beautiful vocal and piano performances . I found the words a bit confusing though . and why does Iggy rate a Teddy Bear and I only get a Box of Chocolates? (plus, I'm on the Atkin's diet).
