Troubles
by Alicia Keys
Beautiful!!! But I did find the spoken part a bit distracting. Ive heard of Alicia Keys, I dont know why, but Im not familiar with her body of work.

In My Room
by Brian Wilson
Ive never really analyzed Beach Boys music until I sat down and listened to these 2 versions side by side with the lyrics in front of me. I suspect that this is Brian addressing his mental illness. If I listen to the 2 songs in that context I think your version conveys what Brian is trying to tell whereas the BBs version does not do that. Independent of all that baggage I just liked your version more than the original.

Lullaby
by Tom Waits
Instrumentation worked beautifully with your vocal styling and Ill just say your vocal styling is an interesting interpretation. I experienced the original version as a dark interpretation and yours as a soothing lullaby (my apologies for the circular definition). Yet both used the same macabre lyrics.

I Can't Get Next to You
By The Temptations
I enjoyed this version. I did not get the 80s retro - disco vibe you were shooting for, I really liked the vocal but I hear a certain 70s thing going on there (when I can think of who or what it is I will post it on jlsc). The production was nice and clean (i.e. it was eqed nicely for .wma encoding). This is awful on my part bit I used to do this song with a blues / rock band and I did not know it was a Temptations song.

Deramer
by The Beatles
Interesting and pleasant vocal rendering of the tune, I liked it a lot. I hear a lot of bands cover Sabbath and The Oz and he is very difficult to emulate. I think I do War Pigs, Paranoid and Crazy Train 52 times a year (i.e., every time we gig) and its nice to hear something different by him.

Buona Sera
by Louis Prima
not familiar with Louis Prima and I did not listen to the original yet (I will). I think you have a soulful voice and I liked the piece very much.

Wonderwall
by Oasis
Nice vocal styling drawing from the original artist but definitely your own thing and excellent production work too. Its actually a pretty good song, huh! Ill guess I need to go out and get the Oasis CD.

Nowhere man
by The Beatles
This is one of my all -time favorite Lennon tunes and I think you did it justice. The vocals are very nice. I considered doing Norwegian Wood but I am still hesitant about posting my vocal and here is some more that you probably dont want to know about me My wedding song was Love (off of John Lennon Plastic Ono Band) and my 2 cockatiels are named Strawberry Fields and Sugar Magnolia. Well, thats more info than I should be posting on the internet.

Happier Than the Morning Sun
by Stevie Wonder
I did not get an opportunity to compare this version to the original so I do not know if it is reasonably faithful to the original or an interpretation (I am assuming the former). Its a very pretty song. Your vocals and guitar playing are both very strong and the low fi stream was very clean. I liked it a lot.

Every Rose Has Its Thorn
by Poison
This one was a lot of fun and the accordion was a nice touch. I listened to it several times. A number of years ago I saw Garfunkel (no Simon) at (I think) Avery Fisher Hall with some top-notch musicians. That was the first and only accordion solo that Ive seen in a rock/folk-rock setting and the accordion player got a standing-O.

Day Tripper
by John Lennon & Paul McCartney
Day Tripper was the 2nd Rock and Roll song I learned as a youngster (actually, maybe the 3rd if you consider the intro for Mississippi Queen a song). Ill have to go with the other reviewers on this one; I didnt think the choice of tone for the melody instrument was a good fit within a faithful reproduction of the song. I had a lot of trouble with the low-fi stream on this one (buzzing etc.). Did you use 16th notes or 16th note triplets on the intro drum roll? I couldnt hear them.

Just A Little
by The Beau Brummels
It was nice to hear the bass drum / ride cymbal bell prominent at the beginning of the song and the punchy bass drum (up in the mix where it should be) definitely gave the tune more drive than the original.

Joker
by Steve Miller
Great stuff! I especially like the very daring interpretive intro, a little lilt almost wanting to shuffle or swing.

You Won't See Me
by The Beatles
You have a great voice and I liked the tones of the instruments that you used: distortion and synth / sitar. Very nice performance. I had mixed emotions about the tempo probably about 120 for the original versus roughly 160 for the interpretation. I hear a raunchier version wanting to happen at that speed (I suspect that's just me).

Dreams of Fast Cars
by an amalgam of Tracy Chapman & Gabrielle
I was not familiar with Dreams and hadnt listened to Fast Car in a long time. The 2 songs flowed together beautifully and I think the lyrics worked OK together. The Dreams part is a bit noncommittal when juxtaposed against a song about life in a single parent alcoholic family and how the child in that family views the car as a means of escape well just a thought. I once saw a male/female comedy act seamlessly fuse a romantic tune sung by the female (Im drawing a complete blank on the song) with Psycho Killer sung by the male.
