Oedipus Rex

I hear that Oedipus is one bad mother*@#!ker . Sorry for the Fruedian/Shaft pun.
:)
Anyway, if Oedipus were adapted to a musical, I could see this song being sung by the cast of the Chorus (I'm assuming it's written from their perspective). I think it is a clever musical number. But please ask Melina not to write a love theme for Oedipus and his mom - That would just be sick and wrong!

Lifetime of Love

I usually hate sweet love songs but I'd be blind not to admit that this is a great song for that genre and has serious commercial potential. The recording is a bit raw in some parts but it suffices for a demo and is worth shoping around to a publisher. I can imagine this being a popular solo piece played during weddings and anniversary parties. I could also imagine some adult-contemporary artist doing a popular version of this if they had the good sense to pick it up and do. The great lyrics and melody are a winning combo. Good job!

Don't Run Away

Overall, not a bad dance tune. I would suggest having a female do the "Don't run away" falsetto bit- or Bring it down in the mix a bit or even take it out altogether. I found it a bit annoying after the first go around. The drum sequencing in awesome and so is the instrumentation.

I think this song has a lot of potential. But as it is, it feels like something is missing. The overall production is not bad but the progression is far to repetitions and kinda looses me halfway through it. I think if some kind of bridge or change up were added it would improve the song a lot. Still there is a lot of promise in that song if it were maybe developed a bit more.

Nice little slice of Americana! Music has a nice flow to it. I love the lyrics. Double tracking on the vocals works for this song!

What She Said

The basic idea of this song is great. The lyrics have a lot of merit. If I were critiquing the song based on this alone I would give it a great score. But I'm listening for the whole thing here. You have a great quality to your voice but there a frequent pitch problems and it sometimes makes the melody a bit elusive and I had trouble discerning where it was going. The reverb is over-used and the piano performance could be a little richer. These are all correctable problems though, and it would take only a little work and practice to improve the over-all performance of the song.

This song was extremely well done. The melody was catchy. Only downside is there were too much effects on the vocals making the lyrics hard to understand. You have a great voice, you don't need to dress it up so much.
